In away, they haven’t shown much of Kenshin and Kaoru’s character development between each other to really add to impact. It’s funny that Kaoru’s assertiveness is usually used as part of the manga’s comedy relief but it also seems to build rapport between both her, Kenshin, and the kenshingumi.
Rurouni Kenshin is the second manga that I ever finished reading. I like the drawing style a lot and thought that the plot was pretty good. They did well with the Kenshin/Jin-e fight scene, showing the excellent animated flow, speed, and camera captures. We also get see a well-done flip of Kenshin going into Battousai mode and while the amber eyes added an extra layer in the 90s version, this remake gives a good version of the cold and ruthless hitokiri Kenshin once was.
